It doesn’t surprise us one bit that Casey’s answers were earthy. After all, this former grassroots activist and herbal healer runs one of the most successful cooperative farming models in our area. His co-op, Lancaster Farm Fresh, represents over 100 small family farms that abide by the same high growing standards and are all committed to environmental stewardship. We’d gladly spend a snowy day drinking chaga chai tea with him!

TJ Murphy is a man who knows what he likes. Recently, he revealed to us that he spent an entire weekend scouring the five boroughs for a very specific label of preserved cherry tomatoes. When the Marketing Department struggled to brainstorm a location to host a lunch for our Culinary Council, TJ insisted that legendary hole-in-the-wall pizzeria, DiFara, was the perfect place. He was right.  We’re always curious to hear what he’s watching, listening to and, most importantly, what he’s eating.

We have to admit, we were surprised to hear that Jeremiah Stone had recently eaten at Uncle Boon’s and was listening to Ryan Adams’ new album.  Between running two insanely busy restaurants, we’re not sure where he finds opportunities to do anything unrelated to cheffing.  We’re relieved that he has a little free time and we wish him many Negronis in the future.
