7 NYC Restaurants We Can’t Wait to Visit in 2016

1)      abcV

As a produce company, we might be biased—but, we can’t get enough of all the serious, veggie-focused restaurants popping up these days.  This hotly anticipated Jean Georges restaurant has been a long time in the making and, with Pure Food and Wine veteran Neal Harden at the helm, we’re confident it will be one of the best.

Opening: Early spring

2)      Cafe Altro Paradiso

We loved Ignacio Mattos’ deceptively simple Italian food at Il Buco back in the day. We’re already planning to make this a staple when it opens a few weeks from now.

Opening: February

3)      Lilia

Something has been missing without Missy Robbins’ incomparable pasta in our lives.  When Lilia opens this week, we’ll be carb loading on a scale that hasn’t been seen since she ran the kitchen at A Voce.

Opening: Tuesday, January 19th

4)      Pasquale Jones

Wood-fired pizzas from the team at Charlie Bird?  Oh, and they picked up Tim Caspare from San Francisco’s Cotogna.  Impossible to go wrong.

Opening: Late winter

5)      Dizengoff

Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook, the dream team behind Philly restaurants like Zahav and Federal Donuts, finally come to NYC.  We foresee extremely long lines when their Israeli humisaya opens in the Chelsea Market later this winter.

Opening: Late Winter

6)      Guenter Seeger

While other continental hot shots were taking over NYC in the 1990’s, Guenter Seeger was quietly annexing Atlanta.  The Swiss native is finally making his move north in 2016.

Opening: February

7)      Tekoa NY

This new café from Alex Raij and Eder Montero will definitely become a neighborhood fixture when it opens in Cobble Hill in early spring.  This will be the first non-Spanish restaurant from the couple, who made their name on Basque favorites like Txikito.
